Glacier Cruise w/ Lunch
MAJOR MARINE TOURS · 6 H · $44.21/H · 4.86★ (895)
A tidewater glacier in six hours, lunch included, and the strongest subscores on the dock.
OUR VERDICT
If Northwestern Glacier is why you came, there is no alternative from this harbour. Everything else about the booking is a trade: $341.55 at checkout against an advertised $336, eight hours from an 8:30 start, and 33 published reviews where the flagship has 895. Its own value-for-money subscore is 4.4 — joint-lowest of the seven.

On guiding this boat is level with the best; on value its own riders mark it down. All three subscores are published now — on 21 August this boat had no transport figure at all, and that bar stood empty rather than guessed. The axis starts at 4.0 on purpose.
THE +$5.55 STEP
THE CORAL SLIVER IS THE +$5.55 — 3RD-BIGGEST OF THE SEVEN
Five dollars and fifty-five cents between the advert and the card. Small in itself, and part of a pattern: every Pursuit boat went up, and none of Major Marine’s three by more than a third of a dollar.
SAME DOCK, SAME DAY, SAME ONE ADULT
Total added at checkout across each operator’s whole fleet. One operator’s ads are the price; the other’s are the opening bid.
ONE EXCEPTION IN THE FLEET: THE HALF-DAY BAY CRUISE RANG UP 7¢ BELOW ITS AD.
$ PER HOUR ON THE WATER
$42.69
The only fair way to compare a 4-hour bay cruise with an 8-hour fjord run. This one lands 4th of seven; the fleet’s best hourly rate is $39.64 on the Extended Glacier Cruise.

WHAT THE TICKET ACTUALLY BUYS
Distance. Every other cruise from Seward turns around in Aialik Bay or before it; this one keeps going, and the extra water is the entire product.
IF THE NAME OF THE FJORD DOES NOT MATTER TO YOU, A CHEAPER BOAT SHOWS YOU A CALVING GLACIER.
No other day boat from Seward reaches it. Eight hours, a hot lunch and a light breakfast included, and the deepest run on the dock.
Six hours does that for about a hundred dollars less, with 895 reviews behind it instead of 33.
The Extended is the cheapest long day of the seven: 7.5 hours at $39.64 an hour.
Eight hours from 8:30 fits the 6 pm train north and nothing else. Take a half-day and keep the schedule.
If Northwestern Glacier is the reason for the trip, yes — no other day boat from Seward reaches it. If you simply want to see a glacier calve, the six-hour flagship does that for $265.23 with 895 reviews behind it.
Eight hours on the water from an 8:30 am start, plus check-in before and the walk back after. Treat it as the whole day — there is no second activity afterwards.
The advertised $336 is the cheapest date and party size; the till asked $341.55 for one adult on our sampled date. All four Pursuit boats went up that day, by $66.05 between them.
A wildlife guide, a hot lunch, a light breakfast, the $1 Alaska SeaLife Center donation and all taxes and fees. Extra food and drink are not included.
It is a smaller record than any other cruise here except Captain’s Choice, and worth knowing before you spend $341.55. The average is strong at 4.85★, but a small sample tells you less about a bad day.
No to a cruise-ship day and no to a same-day flight from Anchorage. It does fit the 6 pm Coastal Classic train north, with room to spare.
They are different products from the same operator. Northwestern has a fixed, deeper route; Captain’s Choice lets the captain pick and scores 4.7 on guiding and 4.4 on value — the weakest pair of the seven.
Yes — a commission from GetYourGuide, at no extra cost to you. It is the second most expensive booking on this page and we still spend three blocks telling you when the cheaper boat is the better one.
