Yes — the Alaska Railroad Coastal Classic, $133–277 one way. It leaves Anchorage at 6:45 am and reaches Seward at 11:20 am, once a day, daily from 15 May to 13 September 2026. It is the prettiest option and also the most expensive and the slowest.
QWhat time does the bus leave Anchorage?
Park Connection runs two coaches a day in season: 7:00 am arriving 9:45 am, and 3:00 pm arriving 5:45 pm. On designated ship days there is also a 1:30 pm run arriving 4:00 pm. One way is $80 and the service runs mid-May to mid-September.
QDo I need a car in Seward?
For the town itself, no — the harbor, the SeaLife Center and downtown are walkable. A car is mandatory for exactly one thing: the free drive to Exit Glacier, the park’s only road-accessible corner. Without a car, the guided hike gets you there for $66.95.

QCan I make a same-day flight after disembarking?
With the coach or a rental car, yes: off the ship by about 8 am, in Anchorage by 12:30–1:30 pm. Add the airport’s own two-hour buffer and aim for a mid-afternoon flight or later. Do not attempt it with the evening train or the transit tour.
QIs there a direct airport transfer?
No scheduled public one. The bus and the train both use downtown Anchorage, not the airport. A local operator sells a private door-to-door shuttle at $950; most travellers take a taxi to the depot and the $80 coach.
